Tata AIG General Insurance honored with the Best Corporate Social Responsibility Award at the 20th Asia Insurance Industry Award 2016
Tata AIG General Insurance Company limited has been conferred with the ‘Corporate Social Responsibility award at the 20th Asia Insurance Industry Awards 2016 held at Macau on 11th October, 2016. Tata AIG General Insurance Company Limited was recognized for its commitment to creating a sustainable ecosystem for all by collaborating with various NGOs in various field of health, sanitation, education, disaster relief, sustainability and volunteering. This is the most prestigious insurance industry award in the whole of Asia where all insurance companies and service providers vie for the winner’s position.
Tata AIG won the award for its role in improving the lives of the underprivileged in important areas of health, education, sanitation, disaster relief, environmental sustainability and volunteering activities. Among the key projects mentioned in the citation was Nanhi Kali. The company worked closely with Tata Trust & a couple of NGOs to adopt the Kuran village of Rajasthan for providing immunization, improve nutrition, sanitation, education, water conservation, irrigation & cultivation leading to improvement in financial income & creation of self-help groups.
Speaking on this occasion Mr. Sibesh Sen, Head CSR, TATA AIG General Insurance Company Limited said, “It is a great feeling for us to be recognized by such a prestigious organization. It inspires us to continue our efforts in the CSR and Sustainability space with an even greater motivation.” He added, “Working with Nanhi Kali on a regular basis in providing for education to 1000 young girls. Over 200 employees in their personal capacity have also sponsored the education for an additional 250 girls. The result of the initiative has been extremely positive with improved school attendance and academic scores.
